Dr. Joseph Sedrak
Dr. Joseph Sedrak is the founder and medical director of Texas Skin Cancer Center.
Education & Training
Dr. Sedrak has graduated first in his medical school class. He received many honors and awards including membership to the elite Alpha Omega Alpha Honors Medical Society. He pursued rigorous surgical training at UCLA, followed by dermatology training at Loma Linda University. He successfully completed his residency and became board certified in dermatology. He subsequently completed a combined Cosmetic and Dermatologic Surgery Fellowship.
After performing thousands of Cosmetic and Skin procedures during his training, he became an expert in all manner of skin procedures including Botox, Fillers, peels, Liposuction, Laser surgery and more. He even authored a chapter in a Cosmetic Dermatology textbook. Doctor Sedrak grew up in Southern California and obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree at the University of California in Biochemistry. He also obtained a simultaneous degree in Philosophy. After graduating Magna Cum Laude he obtained an academic scholarship at the University of South Alabama College of Medicine (USACOM). In medical school, he was the only medical student to obtain a 4.0 GPA in his class and was ranked #1 among his peers. This allowed him to excel in his internship, residency and fellowship. He completed an internship in General Surgery at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). Upon completing his internship year, he began a rigorous three years of dermatology training at Loma Linda University. His crowning achievement was his competition of a Procedural Dermatology Fellowship with the world renowned dermatologist, Abel torres, MD, JD who founded one of the dermatologic surgery programs at Harvard and was chief of Dermatology. During Dr Sedrak’s training, he performed thousands of surgeries with expert guidance. He had the opportunity to participate in advanced cases with plastic surgeons, facial plastic surgeons, and oculoplastic surgeons to give him a well-rounded background in dermatology and skin surgery. After completing his fellowship, he continued as a professor of dermatology and trained medical students, residents and fellows. During this time he completed a Master’s of the Arts degree in ancient history.
